I really have missed everybody. I am so far behind and will have a hard time getting caught up. I still don't have my own internet service so I borrowed a computer so I could make contact and give an update. When the Fire Dept. Came and took us out of the house the water was up to our necks. They took us to a service station that was out of the water and said they would come back for us. The never did. We at in the cold rain for 6 hours. My wife had a stroke at this time. A couple came by and took us to a motel. I had to put my wife in the hospital and I stayed at the motel paying $300.00 a week out of my pocket for a month. My daughter came down from Abilene to help us and I decided to move to Abilene where she could help us and it never floods. I had to get my wife out of the hospital and when we arrived in Abilene and I had to get an ambulance to get her out of the car and put her back in the hospital. She then had a heart attack and had to have four stints put in her heart and her kidneys failed. They were ale to get her kidneys going again but she will never walk again and she will never make a major decision the rest of her life. I developed sores on my foot from the flood waters that wouldn't heal. I had to have a rare and powerful antibiotic that could only be administered by IV in the hospital so I had to to spend a month in the hospital. I lost another toe and had to have five stints put in my leg. At one time my wife and I were on the same floor jut a few doors down from each other. A week after I came home I developed pneumonia in both lungs and am just getting over that. My wife just came home yesterday. First time she has been out of the hospital since the flood in Sept. There is a silver lining to this dark cloud. I was able to buy this house. www.zillow.com/homedetails/8301-Fm-1082-Abilene-TX-79601/2092964197_zpid/My neighbor in Houston bought my old home in Houston as is. I see a light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes it is bright and sometimes it grows dim and flickers but it is always there and I'll get there. God is with me and I know it. All things will work out for he good. It always gets better if you don't quit. I don't know when I will build again but I will. My new house has a huge shop with a wood burning stove. I plan to have benches built and it will be perfect to finally get to using my airbrush. I am looking forward to this. I thank God for you guys and this forum everyday. Being here with you has saved me more than once and you are doing it now. Thank you so much for being here and allowing me to be part of such a great society. Thanks for all your support. My new phone number is 325-333-0321

So happy to hear from you Dennis. I’m a strong believer of things happening for a reason but you encountered too many misfortunes almost at once. I’m just glad you’re doing ok, bud. I’ll be in touch.

Dennis, I'm sooo happy to hear you at least kinda ok for now!?! I was wondering about you for quite some time here!! My wife and I have been praying for you on a regular basis. I can't even imagine what that was like for you!?! And it saddens my greatly to think of all the folks that had to endure all that horror from Hurricanes everywhere!!
Best regards, and Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I hope things continue to improve for you I'm glad you have such an optimistic view on life. Keep your chin up mate. I have spoken to Dennis a couple of times since christmas, he is doing OK, moved into his new house, which sounds like it has made a huge difference, and setting up the model workshop, and doing some gold panning, so it's slowly coming together for him and his wife. He hasn't had computer though.
