This '68 Charger R/T project I started almost 3 years ago and I just lost all interest in building it, which is unusual for me since I do love my Mopars and it is more stock than custom. All I'm adding is a set of Cragar SS mags, a set of AMT F60-15 white lettered tires, and maybe a chrome air filter. My paint will be Tamiya TS-54 Light Blue Metallic. I assembled the 440 CI engine and painted it with Mopar Turqouise Engine Paint. Since it is in the kit, I assembled the 426 Hemi and painted it with Mopar Street Hemi Orange Engine Paint. I cut off the T-handle from the racing shifter and glued it onto the stock shifter. I found this photoetch set that was left over from a previous build and I will use it on this build. I'm going to use a distributor from MAD and maybe a chrome air cleaner. More Mopar to come...

Progress on the Charger has been very slow. I got the MAD distributor assembled, painted, and installed in the 440 CID V-8. Now to run the wires and finish the engine. More Mopar to come...

I dove into my parts box this morning in search for parts to make a buddy seat for my '68 Charger R/T. I found a bench seat from the AMT '71 Charger R/T and started to wonder if I could use the center section for this. I pulled out my razor saw and cut away the seats and removed the fold-down armrest and center cushion. A little sanding and trimming and I have a buddy seat. Looks pretty good in a mockup. Some more sanding and filling in the gaps in the seat cushion and the armrest and it should be good to go! More Mopar to come...

Thanks guys! Since I had the paintbooth up and running yesterday, I primered the Charger and various bits and pieces. And, grey primer for the interior bottom and the chassis. More to come...

Yeah, I know. I've been sidetracked with getting ready for my model club's expo tomorrow. Had to finish my '62 T-Bird project for the Club Challenge. I'll get back to the Charger shortly.

Joe, it like this...I want something different for this Charger. The buddy seat and the Cragar SS mags definitely makes this a different car. Now, if I can stop from being sidetracked, I should be able to finish this Charger. But, I also have a '53 Studebaker, a '69 Road Runner, and a Foose FD100 Pickup going as well. Plus, there's the LIARs show this coming weekend, plus I have yard work and prep for winter...it never ends!

Well, it seems that I have once again lost interest in the '68 Charger and I have put it on the back of the bench for the time being. I'll get back to it later.

Well Joe, this was my own doing. I had good intentions of working on the Charger and then, something shiny came along and I just had to work on it! Don't worry, I'll get back to this one soon. Maybe this year?!!!
