We had our local vintage club show today. The weather was nice and warm, and the show was packed with people. It got so busy I ended up helping arrange the bikes/stopping ignorant parents letting their kids climb over bikes worth more than they can earn in years. One thing did stand out to me though, and its only a small thing but why do people feel the need to take multiple dogs they can to a show, I dont know how much crap I stood in today, and I'm sure most of it was down to them. It was a vintage machinery show, the animals were yesterday and elsewhere. Anyway, my feet are clean now so here's some pics of the slightly custom stuff, including my old vw vento or mk3 jetta to you guys in the us. It looked nothing like this when I owned it, and I kinda want it back now since I cant get back my old mk3 golf gti. lol.
I think this mini might have a bike engine, it sure sounded fruity and the wheels are nearly as wide as they are tall. The interior on it was really nice too, done more classic hot rod dash than mini style.
No idea what this is, but I think it might be an aussie ute conversion. I'm sure someone here will be able to confirm if I'm right or not.
Nothing says lancia better than 4x4 delta integral with martini stripes, but 400 bhp probably helps. We followed this up a fairly steep hill and I can confirm its fast and seemed to spin its wheels all the way up.
This mustang is spotless inside and out, its 289 engine 68 model according to the card. I've never seen a mustang this colour before and it looked much better than the pic which seems a bit dull.
Just a nice clean vw polo on mk1 golf wheels. This is booked in with a vw shop down in england for some big work soon from what I'm told. The plan sounds wild...
And now some more custom stuff, how about a twin straight 6 engine 4x4 that can go nearly anywhere, this has been one of my uncles projects this year but he is kinda prolific when he gets in the mood to do something. 3 months ago this was 2 scrap 4 cylinder ford super dexta tractors with wrecked engines, now its a fully custom tractor based loosely on some old ford special vehicles.
My uncle also had this 1917 ford tractor there to celebrate 100 years of ford tractors (he actually managed to get 140+ ford tractors there this year, 30 of which he owns)
Another custom ford tractor, again a straight 6 engine
All in all it was a good day, but I missed getting pics of a flathead v8 grey fergie tractor in a delicate shade of rust but not rot, but it was mobbed all day so I couldn't get a decent pic.
I'll be updating this with a link to my flickr account as there are 300 more pics to upload of bikes, cars, tractors, commercial vehicles and stationary engines/bike engines converted to power houses (some of the islands here only got mains electric in 1982 so these old bike engine can be found in some strange places, eg one local school got its power from a v twin jap (the company jap, not japan) engine.
