Was saving this one for a rainy day and being winter decided to get this one ready for paint when the weather gets better. Checking out the body found that there was hardly a trim line for the roof gutter rail on one side an easy fix but assembling the front nose and the filler panels I found that I wasn't going to build this one stock, what were they thinking supplying filler panels that had no resemblance of the 1:1 panels. Not only were they wrong they didn't even fit properly so out came the files and sandpaper to get them level then filled the rest in, where the turn signal is, with styrene and super glue then sanded down again to a nice smooth finish. Decided after all that to turn it into a drag car, so looking through the parts bins came across a thunderbird pro stock chassis that I got as a glue bomb and test fitted it to the daytona body with no major mods except for the roll cage. While I was at the roll cage decided to put a few more bars in it and added a drivers cage to modernize it a little. Engine wise I cut the big block ford from the lenco and joined it to one of the hemi twin plug engines from a revell funny car kit with the only real mod was modifying the twin distributors to fit under the bonnet. Also found the rims and tyres in the parts box that will be painted a contrasting color to the body when I have decided on a color. Cheers and thanks for looking Steve
