Right, I won't include any names/personal info but I'm not sure what to do.
I ordered some model parts from a website that specializes in resin parts and transkits on the 27th of last month, paid the same day and got my order confirmation.
At the moment I'm writing this, I have yet to recieve word that my order has been completed, let alone shipped.
Now, I sent the person in question a message asking what the status on my order is, and what I got back is that the tooling needs to be remade, and he has no idea when he will be able to ship.
Should I wait until I get an email that it has been shipped, even though he can't tell me when, or should I cancel my order, ask for a refund and see if I can find another website/eBay that has it in stock and order it there? I'm feeling like these are just excuses
Lucas.

Lucas, I'm having an issue with a resin caster myself. I've been very patient now for over a year but keep calling him and for lack of better words, politely pestering him about the completion of the project. If his work wasn't so good I would have asked for my money back a long time ago. You could, however, get him to communicate the options to you. Find out what his plans are and ask him to at the very minimum to give you a "ball park" idea of when he can have it done. He should have an idea of whether to proceed with your order or just return your money. In short, put the decision in his court but don't do like me and wait forever. lol

Is it a UK caster by any chance? That does liberty walk and rwb kits among others? If it's the one I'm thinking off their website seems to be down quite a lot from being too busy so if I get their parts I tend to go to hiroboy or another store so it's in stock. I would ask for your money back if you paid by paypal or card as they have a time limit for refunds. You could always ask for your refund , and ask him to contact you when he has the parts you want made (if he wants the business he should be happy to do this)

Hi Mustang,
I've asked him how long he thinks it will take to get the items ready, and he basically asked me to bear with him since he can't give me a timeframe. The problem I'm facing is that I got everything I need for this build and cancelling my order will grind it to a halt, or at least until I'm able to find another set. As I said, I placed my order on the 27th and I find his lack of communication worrying.
Lucas.

I was aware of his stop on shipping until the third of may, but at the time I ordered, the transkit was still available. When I took a peek on their site this evening, the transkit showed as unavailable at the moment.

C1 stuff is good but it can take a while to get it as I'm pretty sure it's just one guy with young kids and a full time job too. Scale production in germany might have the rwb transkit, they do a lot of porsche stuff and also have a good reputation if hiroboy dont have it. I keep intending to get c1's vw caddy kit and the mk2 golf arch kit but something else always seems to catch my interest.

Just a thought but maybe hobby design will do a rwb style kit?

I looked at the hobby design one too, but decided on the other option since their kit only consists out of flares, wheels and some various other parts whilst the C1 kit is a full body, with 4 different wheels/options to build 4 different variants.

In some ways just getting the flares etc would save you having a spare body left over, but I can see why a full body would be better. I had a look on scale production but they dont have any porsche stuff in stock just now. Ebay could be worth a try for the c1 kit

That's what I mean, flares are not that bad to attach but if they are already molded onto the resin body, it saves a lot of headache if they are not completely straight. I will have a look on EvilBay to see if I can find one.

Here's my take on this gentlemen. I know you guys want to be nice and protect some of these guys names and I get it. You don't want to bash them. But sometimes it's the only way to get a response from them. If we all know who it is that does business that way, it can help the rest of us make decisions on whether or not to order from them or not an avoid a possible headache. It would be nice to know but also respect if you decide to keep it to yourself. Now on to your specific problems...
Lucas - I ordered from C1 Models a few months back. It did take a while for them to send me my stuff. I went through the same thing you did at first until I started sending him messages to get a status. He was waiting on new molds as well. Now I know they had a huge setup up at the NNL because I saw pics of it. It took a while for me to get my stuff but I eventually did. I know you're working on a project but at this point you're going to have to decide if it's worth waiting or if you'd just rather TRY to find the parts somewhere else. I know you're trying to avoid a headache of extra work, but right now you have a headache for not getting the order to begin with. Think about that.
Joe and Jason - I'm not sure what caster you guys are dealing with but, to me, a year is waaay too long. I would probably rather just try to get my money back. If payment is made through PayPal you're protected for 180 days. In your case, that time is past so not sure if you're even guaranteed to get your money back.
When I do resin parts and sell them (which is not too often), I only offer what I have on hand to avoid this.
I hope it all works out for all of you.

At this point for me....it aint about the money. I just want my dang station wagon and his (Perry's) looks like a pretty swell little kit. I bought one off of Ebay just because and it looks pretty fair but I'll call this fella again tomorrow and ask for my wagon. He can keep the money.....I just want my wagon.

Sorry guys but this is unacceptable, whatever your buying, whatever the cost... These people that sell parts take your money quick enough, suppose you kept them waiting months before you paid them for goods !!
There's no excuse, if you can't deliver the goods don't advertise selling them.

I may have mentioned this before but if it's on the menu then that means a person can order and it can be served up. I'll be heckeling the cook some over the next two weeks and as I said before.............I just want my dang wagon.

You're right on the money (heh), I have only dealt with Scaleproduction as far as aftermarket/resin goes and that went very well. I specifically chose for C1 for their quality and the contents of the transkit. Eightyone does not have a Rauh Welt Begriff kit and the Hobbydesign kit is almost double the money for essentially half the parts. I'll just be patient, see what happens. Thanks for the input everyone!

Ooooohh. Now I get it. Well at least he hasn't taken your money. U fortunately, that will allow him to take his time...as long as he wants too. Haha. Since he really doesn't owe anything. I hope you get it soon. Sounds like it's a piece worth waiting for.

I talked to him yesterday and told him that I had every right to ask for my money back but I just wanted the product. I'm willing to pay if he's willing to still produce a model. Some say I've got way too much patience but I really just want the quality that his molds can give. If I hadn't seen his outcomes I wouldn't be so adamant about what I really want here. Just sayin.... sorry%20bout%20dat_zps1nny96hw
