I know some of you have seen this before, but this site is the main one I use now so I wanted to get this back up to date. Hopefully get some progress soon as id like to finish it one day...... So the idea was to build something radical, out of something I usually wouldn't build if someone gave it to me for free ! Now I don't dislike the new Bug, but I wouldn't customise one, so the challenge was on ! I thought of a few ideas, pro street, gasser, lowrider etc but then a hi-tech custom was decided on, something resembling a new bug but altered a LOT, just to keep you guessing.... Here's what I started with, looking a bit sorry for itself, the body was the only bit I'm using...... More soon ......   With some parts from this added.........   |

First thing was to cut the roof off ! I left the pillars for reference, then made up a smooth panel to cover the rear. Biggest wheels i had were from a Nissan 350z kit, so i added these, dreading the fact i wanted this one on the floor, so suspension building would be fun ! !  |

Wanted something different for front lights, and i love these ! Yes their 1937 Ford, and i angled them inwards slightly ! Also started smoothing all the bodywork, including rear lights, and cut out the bottom of the rear bumper, going to fill this with 2 big bore exhausts ! !   |

Made up the front and rear of the floorpan, rear axle was strengthened up too !   |

Built the 350z engine, modified the intake and added wires. Then got them in colour ! Paint is Plasti-kote Lavender and Tamiya Lavender, these will be used on the finished bodywork too...  |
