This is one of my favorite builds. Had this one just about done at one point. Had all the paint, clear and bare metal foil done. Al, that was left was interior, and final assembly. Fast forward some years to now. I decided I did not like the color so I took it apart, stripped the paint and reshot it in a factory Bronze color. This has some unique upgrades. I used a AMT 71 Duster chassis, relocated the rear springs inward and made some home made traction bars. Lowered the front suspension with some home made drop spindles. Under the hood instead of incorrect MPC wheel wells it now has the under the hood firewall, inner fender, and core support unit from the 71 Duster giving it a much more correct look. All of this underside stuff fit with only slight modifications to make it all fit the Barracuda body. I have rounded out this by adding a nice 426 HEMI. Its now ready for foil again but might try that new chrome pen instead of BMF? have to see if I am ready to experiment?? This is my kind of car the way I like it, 70s Style!! Before, After,

That's quite a difference but I thought the original looked good.

Me too but the paint was not good and a couple of parts were missing. The paint was over a decade old and I cant find it anymore so I had to re do the car. This paint went on nice. I will be adding a side stripe and some clear and it should look a bit better.

No matter what choice, it's a Barracuda, and a Barracuda can NEVER fail to look AWESOME!!!

I like it, I like the new richer colour better. Always liked this body style too, pity there's not a good kit of the notch back though. Thanks for the hint of using the '71 Duster chassis etc, I should try that. Great stuff so far santachas looking forward to seeing it done, might nudge me to build mine. two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon

Thats looking real nice wish I thought about the duster chassis as I got an old build up off a friend of mine and the chassis just looked wrong so I tossed it and turned it into a pro stock. Cheers Steve

Remember to cut this inner fender/firewall/core support unit out of the Duster body. It makes all the difference in making this car look correct under the hood. Look at this model in stock configuration. A bodies do not have big round wheel wells under the hood. This setup I used is about as close to correct as you can get. When the battery, firewall, radiator, wiper motor, master cylinder, and washer bottle is all added you will see a nice conversion.
