Folks.....that time has arrived to where we have to make a change in the way that we post photos. We are getting new members and with that....the question has come to light several times about how to post photos. While a lot of us are used to our image hosting apps and sites, there are a good number of folks out there who are used to sites like Model Cars Magazine, Scale Model Addict and Facebook and I have to agree, it is MUCH more easy to post photos directly from your computer than it is to open up an image hosting site, copy from the site and then paste it into a forum. In the interest of attracting new members here and making things easier for not only new members but all of us existing members, I have made the decision to purchase a Pro Boards Image hosting service. For now, I will bear the cost of this service but in time will obtain a sponsor for CMS that can help us out with the money to keep it going.
I will outline the steps to use this feature on our forum here and it's quite easy. These pictures aren't of the highest quality but you'll get the drift:
First, click the reply button in the upper R/H corner of the text block:
Then the full reply editor text box will come up adn you'll click "Add Attachment" in the upper R/H corner of that screen:
Once you click on that, the "Add Attachment" mini window will poplulate and you'll click on the "Add Files" box here:
In the following example, I added four pictures. There's a limit of 20 per forum post/ reply here at CMS.
After that, you just click the "insert" block for each photo and then click "Done" in the lower R/H corner and your photos should appear in the post. You may have to move them around a bit by clicking between the pictures and hitting enter which will put them in a row like I have done here:
I have added a plug in as of today which will help things out in viewing these photos. Before each picture would have to be clicked on to view it in a larger size. With the update that I installed today you merely have to hover the mouse pointer over the photo and it will enlarge with no clicking and you can move on to the next one.
I'll post a couple of pictures here so you can test this feature out.
This was a necessary decision to accommodate not only forum growth but also to take another step forward in the success of this forum. If you've got any questions or clarification on how to use this feature just reach out. Thanks for being here everyone......we're making progress.
