Thanks Les! The lack of trim on the box top may have been because they wanted to get the model to market in a hurry. It is what it is. With that being said, I have a plan! The chrome wheels will get a coating or two of flat clear to bring down the shine and make the wheels look more like aluminum, much of the trim, if not all will be painted flat black or semi gloss black and the tailpipes will be drilled out.

My son built this kit a few years ago when he was into the whole Ford Raptor thing and he had a good time with it. I've still got the finished model in my display case. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one Mike.

Thank Joe! Now that I look at the body some, maybe I'll paint it. Not sure of the color yet, but that is to be determined.

this is just an idea but how about copying the box art, but actually do the flames and black. it might suit the raptor and its simple to trace the flames on tape. if you sprayed the flame colours first there would only be one paint edge to fix

Thanks Joe! What color to paint it? Well if it is like trucks around here it will be white, grey or black. I am not sure they permit any other colours in these parts. Work parking lot looks like a black and white photo!

Thanks tcoat! I'm thinking of some kind of orange to match the colored plastic.

Boy, that's looking pretty sharp. That smoke on the wheels does a good job.

Thanks Joe! What color to paint it? Sorry for the late reply Mike. I'm a guy who likes black but I've seen these trucks look good in blue. I hear you on ease of painting by way of mating the truck bed and cab together. I'll be watching for the color coats for sure!!

Thanks Joe and tcoat! I decided to glue the body and the bed as one for painting and ease of use. I know that many of you builders wouldn't bother, but I'm different! This is what I try to do when I do a truck build, even if it's just tape it somehow.
I saw one a couple weeks ago that was a dark blue...super snazzy... an orange though would rock for this.

Thanks Joe and Jeremy. I envy those who paint with black, but for me it is more trouble than it is worth. Absolutely straight panels, additional sanding and so on. It is fine for those who are good with it. Testors Hemi Orange is fine for me who has additional cans for use. I glued the bed on to use less paint when spraying since I would spray the unseen areas of the body.

I hear you and you're right about everything having to be dang near perfect to use black......but it sure looks good when it's all said and done. lol Looking forward to seeing this bad boy in that Hemi Orange Paint Mike.
