I just went to do some paint in this wheni noticed a little area of cracking in the primer. i'm nor sure if ut will show in the pics but my fix will be a quick layer of filler primer on the door and front wing. i think the problem is caused by the primer not being roperly mixed at the duplicolour factory as i've had the same with grey primer recently too where it comes out looking like flocking. its always from a fresh can too and after first useit works fine but its annoying when it happens.


i'll still be painting it black and i have files to do the new version sometime too

I finally got decent weather to open the window to paint so i got it painted duplicolour pearl black. the first few coats didn't cover very well so it got a second going over yesterday. I'll need to clear it but i think i'm going to foil it first as i tend to overdo the clear which makes it more difficult. I've also given the steering wheel and gearknob a walnut paint job by basing them in black and dry brushing various browns and a little copper before coating with clear orange.

i'm hoping to get the chassis assembled later today after i get some more detailing done.

and we're onto final assembly. the rear suspension was awkward to get lined up correctly and even now i'm not sure its completely square. and the door panels need pulled in a couple mm each side or the dash falls out. a lot of these problems could ave been avoided by test fitting but the body looks lke it would be a very tight fit, so to avoid damage i haven't done that because its a tamiya kit and now its biting me back. the body has been given another few coats of clear with foil in between but it seems i missed that pic. the only part really left to detail is the foil on the glass and i need to foil the bumpers too then i can put the body on









if you look closely i added a gasket to the head using brown parcel tape and the stitching on the seats is dark grey so it wouls stand out a little more as it was very dark

Fantastic work on this. Great looking cars. They always remind me, right or wrong, of Alpha Romeos.
