WOW!! I'm a BIG fan of these trucks and really like what you're doing with this one Bob. That frame looks like a "plug & play" ordeal and is going to work nicely with what you're doing here. Sucks about the paint but I already know what you're capable of so it's just a momentary distraction for you. Looking forward to next steps bud.

Just block the paint back and use it as a primer cote mate, this should be one cool build.

Strange things happen i guess. I appreciate ya Brotha. Yeah, it's going to be a nice paint job if I can get it wet sanded and polished out.

I use the Micro Finishing Cloth Abrasive Pads that I get at Hobby Lobby. I cut them into 4 pieces as they seem to be more managable that way. I start with 4000 and work my way up to 12000. I always use the Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. Same as I use on Ruby my 1949 Chevy pickup 1:1 Restomod.

I've seen good amount of models that this stuff was used on and they always turn out brilliantly. You know you're gonna have to post a pic of that 49 Chevy you've got.

Yup, early LS. I get about 16 mpg. That's nuthin' to sneeze at with a 3-speed automatic behind it. I've seen 5.3's with 6 speeds that didn't get that good of fuel economy. I get about 9 in mine with a 4-speed automatic. I've got 4.10's though.

We called it our city truck as it only had an 11 gal fuel tank and got about 6 mile per gal. I was running a Muncie Rock Crusher 4 Speed close ratio. It had a sbc 302. It was a de-stroked 350 with solid left. About 450 hp. Old school Hot Rod and tons of fun.
