Thanks Joe! This may get a little interesting... I'm all in regardless. Interesting is good as some of the best work ever gets done when we think outside of the box and outside of our comfort zone.

Magic? I thought I was rebuilding a model car! LOL Thanks, my friend! Tear down of the '56 T-Bird is complete and I have started repainting and rebuilding the Bird. The engine is mostly complete with rebuilding the motor and repainting it. Now, on to other parts.

Nice save here Mike. I hear what you are saying about the way it's been built. Hopefully it was a kid, looks like it. The hobby needs more kids and beginners I think.

Deano, I agree with you! We do need more beginners and newbies working the hobby! But, I fear that many people in the hobby are collectors and I think they are ruining the hobby of building for the rest of us!

Some spiffy work going on with that chassis Mike and that mock up looks like you're on target man.
I will say that with the release of a good number of shows/ movies like Masters of the Air, Greyhound and Midway it seems to be attracting the interest of some of the younger audiences towards the military side of modeling. My 20 year old son for instance, is just captivated by the B-17 and the whole air war over Germany to the point that we have now bought a 1/48 Eduard B-17 to build together. At the Nationals last year there were a good number of younger modelers building all kinds of subjects which is a promising sight to see. The more these youngsters are encouraged to go to the model shows and see forums like this the more likely it is that this hobby may carry on for a while longer. At least....that's my take on it based off of what I'm seeing.

Thanks Joe! The chassis is coming along and once I figure out the front suspension, it should be excellent! The subject of aircraft and modeling is not an unknown to me as I have built a few planes over the years. As a matter of fact is that I do have two sitting in the stash right now. A F-51D Mustang and a F/A-18 (RC) Hornet to be built sometime later. My model Club has donated many aircraft type of models over the years and while we are open to other types of models, we do allow aircraft and boats of all types. World War II has seen many different types of aircraft and boats, many are derived from civilian roots and many young people seem to have discovered a missing part of their world.

That'd be cool to see what kits you have Mike. Is that P-51 a Tamiya kit by chance? I hear what you're saying about the missing part of their world. It's like a "new" to them so to speak.

The F-51D Mustang is a Korean War aircraft and it is a Tamiya kit. I only have about 75 kits in my stash and over 200 built models in my hobby room. I have run out of room so I guess I'll have to "retire" some of my models to make room for others that I build. The model cave is such a mess right now that I should clean it up.

Those kits are an absolute dream to put together Mike. Almost truthfully, one could cut all of the parts off of the sprues, shake the box and throw it on the ground and it would build itself. lol

Good choice on using the old windshield and I don't blame you one bit for that Mike. Some good detail work on those tail lights as well.

Thanks Joe! I did the clear red first, followed by my Molotow pen. I've come to like Molotow pretty well Mike. It seems like a slew of manufacturers are popping up with their version or chrome these days. AK released their version of it a couple of years ago and Revell with the rattle can chrome which I've been seeing some REALLY good results from.

I would love to try the Revell Chrome, but the price of it is a little much for the budget.
