I always use a primer Mike, usually an etch primer. I find it works better on the Italeri plastics and resin, especially if I'm masking out for stripes later. I'm no expert but I'd be using my usual grey primer, then the silver then the top coat and the clear, but I'm happy to stand corrected here!

Thank you for chiming in Deano! Usually I primer before I apply paint and a lot of people do use it before changing to a different color over red plastic. I think I will primer before blocking the red plastic with flat black and then adding my dark green top coat.

Thanks Mike and Dale! The color is Dupli-Color Forest Green Pearl and has become my favorite dark green paint.

Thanks Deano! I did some work on the Jag XK-E this afternoon. I installed the rear axle and suspension uprights. Then I installed the drive shaft and the engine. Some time ago, I ordered some parts due to a short shot or lack of a formed part and I received them fairly quickly. I noticed that the torsion bars (I think that's what they are) seemed to have suffered the same thing. I'll either leave them as is or maybe replace them with a similar size sprue.
