I remember seeing this show rod at a custom car show with my Dad back in 1968 when I was only ten years old. Back then most of the cars in the show where crazy looking show rods. Shortly after that I went to the hobby shop with my Dad to buy one of those crazy looking show rod models. That's when I got hooked on building models.
To make it look more like the 1:1 car I first airbrushed Vallejo wood then I dry brushed on some flat brown and then some black to make it look like real wood.
The next day after everything dried I then clear coated it all with Testors. I also changed out the rear tires and wheels for a set that looks more correct and the seat railing was scratch built from aluminum wire. I had a lot of fun building this model it brought back some great memories being with my Dad.
