I've been tinkering with this build for a while and to be honest, I thought I had started a thread on it, but apparently not.  This is the donor kit. All im really using from this is the chassis, cab and interior tub. Using resin rear diffs, sleeper and bonnet, different wheels, resin Mack V8, different fuel tanks and a tow body from another Italeri kit. This is the concept.  Ive reduced the opening from the cab into the sleeper from walk through to the old fashioned crawl through. The chassis is as per the original kit length wise.  The red colour is nail polish.   The cab and tow body are done in a Holts Dupli colour , light beige - there is no name on the can??   All the pieces have been clear coated ready for decals. |

Looks great Deano, love the colors! What type of paint are you using? The red is nail polish and the beige is Holts dupli colour decanted from a rattle can. |

Hi guys, life has been in the way of doing many of the things I've wanted to lately but i think i finally have my head around most of it. Anyway, things have been slowly progressing. The cab has finally come up with a half decent finish, not great, but passable.  |

 I forgot to take a decent interior photo before assembling the cab.  I'm not sure if this is the proper name for them, but the blue tubes from the AC on the sleeper are stents Dad got from the doctor before he died. He always had an eye for stuff that might be useful in modelling. It's a reminder of him. |

 The photoetch for the headlights doesn't fit very well, but i thought I'd fiddle more once the cab is on the chassis. The engine is a resin Mack V8 that kind of fits in the chassis and under the firewall. The instructions are vague with references to the kit instructions, the transkit bonnet instructions and engine kit instructions, all of with vary depending on which release of the donor kit you have. I've made a heap of notes should i ever wish to do it again !! |
