Paint was flyin" this afternoon! I primed and painted the hood and body of the Mustang GT with Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red. When dried, I was "dirty" the finish. Dex Parios will return...

I added the air intake tube and it didn't fit. I trimmed the airbox and I tried to make it fit and I eventually removed it. I will have to make one from scratch. I added an ignition coil and mounted it on the shock tower. Dex Parios will return...

I made my air box from scratch. It's a little bit short, but it's not too bad! Dex Parios will return...

That's not a bad job at all on that air box Mike. I had a cold air induction tube on mine that went through the fenderwell and did away with the air box all together. MAN I wished I had more pictures of that car.

Thanks Joe! We never did get to see under the hood of Dex's '91 Mustang GT, so I am taking a leap of faith here and created my own air box.

Thanks Dale! I appreciate the encouragement! I added some heater hoses (no pictures yet) last night to match my Spenser For Hire 1987 Mustang GT.

A simple addition like heater hoses just brings so much more to an engine bay. There have been a couple of builds that I wished I would've added those.

I wished I had remembered to add them to other builds, but I got rushed and time was short and I just forged ahead without them. I got the tubing, why not add them!

Having ignored the Stumptown Mustang GT for a while, I decided to do a mockup to see how the wheels and tires would look like. Not bad! Dex Parios will return...

That looks pretty much spot on to me. It's just crazy how some of the kits have the wheel/ tire assys in totally wrong places. lol

Thanks Joe! Some kits have the wheels and tires too far in or out at the edge of the fender and beyond. These tires look closer to the actual tires on the Mustang. Not the ones in the kit!

I have been looking at the headlights for Dex's Mustang GT and I started wondering about how to go about painting them. I do want them to look realistic, but I couldn't remember where I saw the painting guide. With necessity being the mother of invention, I started by painting the directionals and the fog lights with Tamiya X-26 Clear Orange. This morning I was looking at the headlights and I thought that maybe some Tru-Color TCP-013 Aluminium paint would take away all of that chrome and I thought that it looked pretty good. Then I dry-brushed some Aluminium paint over the fog lights to dull the Clear Orange and I liked that as well. Dex Parios will return...

It took me a couple of tries at this and it was a while to do. I painted the taillights with Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver paint. It may take me a while to do with Tamiya X-27 Clear Red. Dex Parios will return...

You're a better man than me tackling those tail lights Mike. Those look like a true PIA!! Coming along nicely on this one bro.
All these 5.0 builds that I'm seeing across the board is making me want to bust out with my coupe. I've got the corrected resin body and everything.

Thanks Joe! Yeah, I did those taillights and after I posted it, I found a small alcohol wipe and I wiped the taillights with it. It did the trick! Now to do the same with Tamiya X-27 Clear Red. I say go for your 5.0 build! I've got several of the '90 Mustang Coupes built.

It has been over 2 1/2 weeks since I paid any attention to the Stumptown Mustang GT. I applied the Tamiya X-27 Clear Red over the Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver and after it had set up for a few minutes, I used an alcohol swab on the taillights and removed the extra Clear Red. Worked pretty good! Dex Parios will return...

I lined the trim with Tamiya XF-1 Flat Black paint this morning. Somehow, some small drips ended up on the roof and I'll try to remove them if I can. Next is painting the side glass for the rear windows. Dex Parios will return...

There is a picture of Dex's Mustang and there is an air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror. I tried to recreate that type of air freshener by downloading an image of the air freshener and resizing the image size to fit the body. Then using a piece of silver plated string from a Christmas decoration, I looped it and glued it the the images I had printed out on my HP printer. Then I needed to paint the fog lights and I used my white Gelly Roll pen and rummage my parts box for lenses for the lights. Dex Parios will return...
