Thankyou guys, much appreciated ! Sorry its slow progress, but im busy with my new airbrush... experimenting ! So far, so good ! Im liking these acrylic colours, and spraying indoors ! They actually smell slightly floral, which is weird ? Chassis and engine block has a white primer then a couple of coats of electric blue. BUT i have a surprise coming up as this is a base coat for the next layer ! Hopefully it works out ok, a crazy car needs a crazy colour and i love this new stuff i bought.. think your gonna like it ! More soon...

Beautiful color! I bought some satin finish acrylic paint that I've used for weathering but I want to try it on a whole body. Congrats on your 1000th post!

Thanks Dennis,
These acrylics don't seem to react with anything, I've tried Tamiya clear on top, future floor polish and acrylic clear varnish, all work great ! As long as they have dried for a few days, no problems !
Just can't decide which is best now !

Thank you guys ! PROGRESS ! Finally ! Just got the chassis and engine in paint, and i swear its un-photographable ! ! EVERY picture looks like a different colour, its driving me crazy ! Sooo.. ive tried a video instead, and it still looks dark ( the paint is more similar to the above blue ! ) But i love it ! A couple of coats of white primer, 3 of electric blue, 8/9 coats of flake and around 6 coats of clear ! Luckily im thinning most paints, so its not that thick a coat on it ! Hopefully this comes out ok, let me know if you cant see it....

Sounds like the chassis will be twice the size now with all that paint, body will sit high, might need to lower it again Looking forward to that video or pics Martin.

Yes true mate, maybe not over an enamel base ! The Tamiya spray cans are a synthetic laquer and I was concerned they might go crazy ! Leon, moramorth, thanks guys, can't work out how to post vids so I cheated ! !

Quick update.. Yes i know i havent added much to this lately, been busy spraying mostly.. But ive lately been parts chasing for this, everything chrome i can find to add ! Engine has new front cover, sump, water pump, starter, fan and front pulleys in chrome. Need to wire it soon too. Ive also been tryng to produce scale engraving for a while and think ive got it ! New chrome card from a hobby shop works, some tear or rip the surface but this works ! Im using a tiny pointed file to `engrave` and the dots are just wooden tooth picks ! What do you think ?

Get your self a set of embossing tools. (should be able to find em at a craft store) If they sell embossing metal they will have the tools. That's awesome looking Martin! Adds a whole new level to your build.

You can find the embossing tools in the nail art stuff on amazon. I've got a set with 12 embossing tools and 12 tiny brushes for about 6 quid

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments ! I laughed at yours Mark, yeah it's not to everyone's taste, but I like to be different !
No excuses with progress, but I'm back in hospital again. My hernia returned so I'm in for another fix... Looking forward to continuing with this in a couple of weeks, but I'll still be following all your builds on here so keep building guys !

Ugh sorry to hear that mate.
I had a crash on my bicycle July 1st, and that kept me "occupied" till about a week ago, so I feel for you.
Hope you feel better real soon.
