Great to see colour on it, mind you I think the hard bit is still to come with these trailers. thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon

Ok guys, so back to a bit more reality... looking back over my trailers I noticed that I needed to add some more details. I added more detail to the back of the A trailer. I realised that I forgot to add the detail to the back bumper as it is not all a smooth surface. The number plate sits in so I added extra plastic around to show this and just shaped the edges to blend it in. I also added a strip of plastic underneath where the turn table will join. ( I do apologise that the trailers are upside down but I am sure that you can see what I am talking about just fine.) I found some of the extra decals that I had made up for my other GRM transporter and was able to conveniently add these to the mudflaps that I just cut out of plastic. I left these as they were to give them a different look to the painted trailers - trying to go with a more warn look. Then just put the decals straight on. The silver tape is marking out the chrome plating but it is only here temporarily. I have also cut out round pieces of plastic as the rubber stoppers (not sure of the technical term here...) So there it is, the final of my detailing pictures. I hope that you are enjoying my build, but as I can see form all your supportive messages I know that you are. I can't believe all the positive messages I am receiving for this build.

A 'warn' look hey? The extra detail is bringing these to life and adding the 3D feel nicely.

So here we go... time to finally add some character to the trailers. Firstly a little bit of back story. When I first decided to do the truck I wanted to make sure that it was in this year's livery, but looking at the design they had this year it was going to be a little difficult to sort out the sticker/ decals that I would need. (As they had the faces of the supercar drivers and I wasn't sure how I would be able to replicate this.) I have known the truck driver of the real truck, Joey, for several years now and after getting in touch with him he suggested that I get in touch with the guy that does all the sticker work for the cars and transporter. I was able to get in touch with 'Brushes' and he helped me to sort out the decals I needed for my model and once that was done he sent them in the mail for me. I was ecstatic when they arrived in the mail and how good they looked just as stickers, let alone what they would actually look like on the truck. Of course I just couldn't wait to size them up to try and get a better idea on how it would turn out. Before I started, having never used this (vinyl sticker) before, I decided to take it slowly and start with the smaller piece on the back door of the B trailer. It was surprisingly easy to use and I was able to adjust and re-stick as I went/ where I needed to. It is very forgiving to use and helps to hide and imperfections that may have been present. I then went on to adding the sides. I made sure that all of the sticker was going to line up where it needed to before beginning and then checking over the trailer to make sure there was no dust or dirt to get stuck in between the trailer and sticker. I pulled the backing from one end and slowly stuck it down, while moving along the trailer, making sure that it stayed straight with the top and the bottom of the trailer. It was a little bit of a slow and steady process but in saying that it really didn't take too long to complete this and the transformation was amazing. From this photo you can see the raised areas that I have outlined, as well as the light at the top of the trailer where the sticker needed to be cut. I hope that you like it just as much as I do!

HOLY CRAP !!! What an amazing job, those decals really make the model, and look perfect, and this is why GRM have been the sentimental fan favorite for a long, long time. They will be missed unfortunately. Great work Ronnie.

Thanks for the comments guys, I love seeing your positive feedback! So here it is guys the last post of my trailers before I show off the finished product. Thanks for following my journey. Here is a bit more detailing I have worked on. For the air con grill at the fronts of the trailers I had searched for something that I could use that was similar to the real thing and I found that the Auslowe photo etch Kenworth transkits were the closest match. Air hoses were added to the A trailer, turntable, taillights, I have also worked on adding locker handles and marker lights for both trailers. On the real truck all the grey (on the model) is actually covered in chrome sticker. I was also given some chrome sticker to use to add the chrome effect to my model. All the Boost Mobile Racing, drivers names and the stripes behind the driver's profiles are done in the chrome. I have taken some before and after photos, although it may be a little difficult to see the difference between the pictures, I can tell you it was definitely worth adding the chrome as it really made it POP! I had to trace the letters out before I put the original sticker on the trailers, then I went on to carefully cut each one out before sticking them on. Luckily I have had a little practice with puzzles as it felt like that making sure I matched all the little pieces to the correct places. It was a little bit of a painstakingly slow process and my hand was so sore after cutting out all the pieces. Thanks again for following my journey, keep an eye out for the finished truck soon!!

The responses I have had for my model just blow me away.
