Started this yesterday and i have to say so far this is a model from HELL. To start with there are no part numbers on the sprues. The interior doesn't fit inside body and i had to use my Dremel and sand the outside of the interior as seen in the pics with the black marks. After i got the engine painted and the chrome parts and headers on i did a test fit in the chassis.Darn it the headers weren't to big and sat on the ground and caused the engine to to come off the chassis.I ended up cutting the headers off and going with the stock manifolds.I'll be using the side pipes in the kit, just going to have to make up a short piece of pipe to connect the two.I also had to cut the inside wheel backs which caused the wheels to sit outside of the body.If i can finish this and have it look half decent without throwing it at the wall.It will be a miracle. DSCN5504 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr DSCN5505 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr Stay tuned in! The battle will continue. BTW.....The engine won't be wired as the distributor is to small to drill out and i ran out of my favorite solder wire for the plug wires.

Well fellas,iv'e still got my sanity and the Gremlin is in one piece! After a little more trimming and sanding i finally have the body and interior sitting on the chassis like i want! egyptian I 'll tape the windshield in to see if i need to do any fine tuning before painting and i need to open up the front wheel opening a bit to get a little more clearance for the tires. Thanks for encouraging me on! Much appreciated. DSCN5506 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr DSCN5507 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr DSCN5508 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr DSCN5509 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr

Man amt didn't put much work into that kit, are all the wheel arches a different shape? in the 2 side pics the rears dont match at all. Nice to see you're persevering with it though, it will be worth it when its done

Got the interior finished and glued to the chassis.I was up in the air about a color for this and decided on Bright orange and some kind of black stripe for the sides.I lost my painting room do to remodeling so i have no idea when i'll get the body painted. With the outside temps in the upper 90s and high humidity, painting outside is out.I may pack things up and take them to work with me on Monday and use our paint booth there.
