I had a 1/24th Allison/rr merlin engine sitting around for a while and was undecided on what style model to put it in .after a lot of thought I decided to go the gasser route .the chassis is made out of 4mm by 4mm box rod .I`v`e bent the rod into the shape of the chassis and mocked up the engine in situ I have a plan for the body (chassis built to length of body )and will show body latter as I progress with the build. axles and suspension will come out of my parts bin as well as other parts. here`s how the chassis/engine mock up looks at the moment

I recommend using the IMG codes from PB. I changed your post up so the pictures would show.

Looks interesting, I'm in the UK there's a drag racing site here called santapod and when I used to go there in thev70s they had 2 merlin engines in a chassis but could never get them synced together right but were still getting runs of over 200 miles an hour over the 1/4 mile.

trial mounted the front and rear axles then the dismantled the axles from the chassis. the chassis and axles are now painted and glued together(still got to mount the shox. the engine is still mocked up n position so I can start making the floor and tunnel. i have a pair of resin hawker typhoon seats that I`ll be using as they go with the Allison/RR Merlin engine .here`s how the model looks at the moment

This is looking cool mate, going to be wild when done. two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon I've got a build with one of these Allison engines in it too, so I'm keen to see how this beast turns out. Popcorn%20and%20drink%20emoticon_zpsnbkzs8ys Don't want to sound like a nit-pickin-rivet-countin-twit mate but that's an Allison, the RR Merlin was a completely different engine. Allison = USA, Merlin = UK.

I`ve got a 2 foot by 18 inches and a foot deep parts box and another box with bodies I haven`t used. the engine was given to me on a spur about a year ago as well as a couple of half built kits with bits missing and broken .I can`t remember what parts were used on this build here`s my parts bin ,there are also model boxes with spurs in dotted about in the model room

Looking great, my spares drawers are full to overflowing and I have 2 boxes the size of yours, to be fair every kit I build usually ends up in the spares drawer due to lack of space.

NICE!! where would we be without our spare parts boxes. I have been sorting mine out for years... maybe that is what's causing me not to get anything done. too much parts sorting and not enough parts gluing!!!
