Great build and story. Reminds me very much of the small detective books you could by at the newsagents.

Thank you Deano! I tend to think of my short stories as akind to a television script. At least that is how my mind works...

Back in the day when I was painting individual figures for table-top fantasy role-play I found it useful to create a "Character Biography" as it would govern the colours used and the general appearance of the figure, even if it was never actually used with that persona. I'd never thought of using that technique to influence a car build before. That's odd, as there have been movies (e.g. "The Yellow Rolls-Royce") where the car has been a sgnificant player in the tale, if not a star in its own right.

M

By writing a story for a model car build, I can build a model that would probably sit in the stash longer versus being built right away. I happen to like to write since it does help keep my mind active during my retirement years. Sometimes a story will require a model car that I normally wouldn't build and I will go out to buy that specific kit. The downside is that I have pigeon-holed myself to a certain time period and I need a certain era of car to build and some stories require a certain type of car. Many kits in my stash will have to wait to be built when I feel like building them, even though I do "plan" my builds for a year.

I hope that might help get me back into building. I'm thinking of doing a figure and then a vehicle to go with it. The figure bio will not that of the manufacturer; I'll probably customise the figure first! I've being looking at some of the figures Master Box (and ICM) have been producing of late and while they may not be an exact match for my needs they do come close and have conversion potential. While I'd always thought I go for "Fantasy" (Mad Max) Post-Apocalyptic models in 1:24/1:25th scale and more gritty (stalker) style in 1:35th scale things are getting a bit blurred. Master Box have just put this lot in their "in progress" section: It looks like they are intended to crew the Meng Model Pickup with ZPU-1 and therefore will be 1:35th scale but I suspect they will be just as at home in a Land Rover which (co-incidentally) has been on sale cheap in the local "Home Bargains"...

M

Just went through my stash and came upon this kit and said,"hey didn't somebody build this on CMS"? Sure Enough !!!! So Mike, I just wanna thank you now for all the WIP fotos help. The front push bar sure looks like something I might try. The body is just too scratched-up to try a no paint polish. Oh well, You gave me a lot of ideas on the interior. Thanks again .

It's my pleasure to help and inspire your latest project! If there is anything more to this build that you have any questions about, please ask!
