Well fellas! I was thinking how i could use all the left over parts from the hearse build.Came up with the idea of a 47 Chevy Gasser being worked on and the 53 panel truck as parts supplier. So far i scratched a new frame and used the Chevy rear floor pan, suspension,Transmission cross member and i cut the front suspension of the the engine mount and slid it between the frame.I'm using the 53 Chevy Gasser front axle.Just finished making a new floor pan.I'm starting to like this cut and shut work.Hope you like how it looks so far. Hi all! Made some good progress this weekend.I did make a few changes.Decided to use some bigger slicks on the rear.Naturally i had to open up the wheel wells and then i had to carve out part of the tires so they would fit the stock wheels. All said and done they came out pretty good.Next up i wanted to do an aluminum interior. So i cut up a piece of thin aluminum sheet for the interior.Tried to make the interior all one piece but had trouble fitting it in the body.I also cut the the trans tunnel from the nova floor and put it in the Chevy. Working on the dash now.Found something in the parts box that resembled a radio and glued it to the bottom of the dash.Started painting the interior a cream color but had to stop. The humidity is a killer and the paint is taking longer to dry. Hope you like the progress. Well fellas, another sleepless night last night.I decided to wire up the distributor, added battery cables and ran a fuel line from the tank to the pump.I need to find something to use for a fuel rail so i can run lines to the carbs. I'm thinking of trying to add some brake lines to. Nice work Leon, for the fuel rail you could try heating up some scrap sprue over a lighter or candle and gently stretching it to the diameter you want

Thank you Les! I'll give the stretched sprue a try.I've used that method to make antennas.

Looking terrific so far Leon!!
For a fuel rail you can use a straight pin. I'm getting ready to add a dual inlet fuel line to a carburetor on my El Camino build so I'll see if I can demonstrate that for you.
As far as plug wires, you've got a good thing going with them already but I'll see if I can offer you a small tutorial here so you can use it for your next build.
I'll start here with the wire itself that I get from Lex's Scale Modeling. There's other options out there and some folks have other favorites but this stuff is mine:
Then I either get a piece of telephone jack wire or even better yet would be a same diameter piece of black wire so it's already the right color:
Cut to two different lengths, one for the distributor side and the other for the spark plug side and insert a toothpick through to swell the "boot" to fit onto the spark plug wire:
and slide both onto the wire and "wallah" you've got yourself one assembled spark plug wire. Either paint the boots to your liking or choose the correct diameter colored wire for them.
Hope this helps you out good buddy. emotion-11

Thank you Joe! Thanks for the tutorial. The wire i used is a bit to big but hey it worked out ok. I'll be getting some spark plug wire or those pre drilled distributors that come with the wires.I'll be watching for your demo on the fuel rail.

Hi all! I decided to run the brake lines last night.Their not perfect but overall i'm happy with them and i'll give myself an E for effort.I'll attach the lines to the master cylinder after the body is on. I gave the body a coat of silver this morning in preparation for the metallic top coat. DSCN4902 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr DSCN4903 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr Thanks for looking in!
