I went down the other end of the state today, for the Historic race meet. There was a massive array of rides, i have tried to capture a good variety of what turned up, and some are worth MILLIONS !! A VERY WET START. A couple of Datsun 1600's FJ and FX Holdens. (GMH) Aussie GM. FC Holden The giant killers, XU1 Torana, another GM Holden, these were a weapon with a 202ci straight 6, with triple webbers, they could keep the 351's, except for down the end of the straights. Holden Monaro, this one has a 253ci holden V8, some later models came out with the 327 chev V8 Perana Capri, this one has a good 300k spent on it. SLR Torana, 308ci Holden V8, these are a weapon too, very light and really handle well. There were about 20 Mini's there, from mild and show quality. To this sports sedan style, with cut down drums for flares. Even a Matich.

This 1980..ish Holden was the "Big Banger" era of racing, big HP, big wheels, they were awesome. An XD Ford Falcon from the same era. And a couple of A9X Toranas, these were the race spec, light weight panels etc, and are worth 100s of thousands of dollars for an original. My parents have black and white footage, on the old super 8 movie reel, of these cars at this track when i was a baby, Finally i got to see them for myself. And on a sad note, this is an AP6 Valiant, a 4 door version of your Barracuda, i took this pic, which was a good thing as 5 mins later, it was shortened by some Mustang driver with not a lot of talent.. This is the original Penske/Donahue Lola, worth millions.. And a few more...

Very nice indeed! I went to a vintage race here in the States and had a similar experience. Should post my pics as well.

Cool stuff. It is like a Star Trek episode where every thing is the same but somehow different. I thought I was a car guy but I didn't recognize most of the vehicles in your post. I think all we really know here in general is Holden and that is from their building of the Pontiacs like the new GTO.
