This started out as a group C touring car, raced by Allan Moffat here in Australia, it had no motor at all, and the hood was non opening. So i opened it up, and scratch built a 20B (triple rotor) rotary instead of the 13B ( twin rotor, most common). Added a turbo and plumbing etc to make it all look right. There is no undies detailing, as i built this way before model forums were a part of my hobby. Wheels are Aoshima BBS-LM, and paint is pearl orange Acrylic.
Here is what the motor consisted of. 3 pieces of sheet plastic, made 1 housing or rotor, so i needed to make 4 housings and 3 rotors.. then shape them with a file and sandpaper.
Beautiful build Dale. I really admire anyone who can take a curbside kit and make a full build out of it and you did a masterful job of it on this one. Awesome paint and the wheels really fit this car and I love that engine. Really slick job building this.
Damn you Dale with your awesome builds gaah . Well done on the 20b, bridgeport??? You do to good of builds too compete against, One day I'll build a better model then you, one day.
You CAN do it Scott, i always thought i could not compete with those guys, but then i looked at what they were doing, and just tried to do the same, and 30+ years of model building helps too mate. Besides, modeling is about ENJOYING the hobby, just have fun doing what you can do buddy. We will call it a Bridgeport, as a peripheral port is a bitch to drive under 7000rpm, no good for the street..
