This thing has hit the rebuild pile due to paint, glue and masking problems. The paint softened the glue I used for the wood on the boat which set me back about a week. I got it all reglued and sitting flat, the interior finished and ready for painting alongside the truck. This is where it went really wrong for me. I've had the cab primed for about a year, I laid a bright heavy metallic silver the next day for the base coat then using lots of masking tape I laid out a pattern over the truck, bed and boat and got to painting. It was all looking decent until I removed the masking tape which is when the big problem decided to kick me in the rear with a vengance. I had bought some expensive masking tape for this that was guarenteed not to let paint get under it. Well no paint got under it, but when I removed it the glue was left behind in an ugly black mess. It was at this time I nearly gave up but decided to flat it back and repaint. The repaint went well but i obviously didnt get all the glue as it showed up again in the paint.
So I'll finish for now with a question, how do you strip resin?
Man you sure put in a sh!t load of work on that paint and masking mate, shame you had problems, it would have really stood out too. Better luck this time round Les, it looked awesome man.
Its not over yet mate, once I get the cab cleaned up it'll be back on the bench, losing 1 rear axle and getting sone work done to fit the engine lower so I can put a car deck on it. Its not going to be far away from the bench for a good while yet

stitchdup: Hey guys, you dont have to start with a curbside kit, you can just glue the hood down and save the engine for something else
